Well worth reading!
Packed with so much history about Britain and Ireland. Why don"t schools have a copy for children to peruse?
A Thousand Miles from Nowhere: Trucking Two Continents, Coster, Graham Hardback

Not written by someone familiar with lorries generally. No pictures at all.
This is written by someone who probably had some fixed ideas before he started. He went as a passenger with British lorry drivers as far as Russia, and made some interesting observations, but didn"t even include 1 picture to even show the lorry he went in. I do feel it would have been a much better book if he had been at the wheel himself, and taken care of loading, map reading, tacho rules etc, He then flew to America and rode with some American lorry drivers. I don"t like to sound too negative but this really would appeal to people who don"t know really anything about lorry driving, after reading the first few pages i nearly didn"t read it at all as it gave the idea that he was anti lorry!!!! This would have been so much more engaging with even half a dozen pictures of his travels. What a shame after all those thousands of miles!!
