HP41 Possibly the best calculator (computer) ever made
4 of 4 found this helpful The HP41 was an innovative product of its day. For those who couldn't afford a personal computer, had a desire to program, and needed portability, the HP41 filled the need. It's more a computer than a calculator, supporting external devices, such as disk/tape drives, magnetic card reader/writers, ROM programs, and printers.
It's keys are firm and responsive. Good enough for me to use by touch as a ten key for several years as I worked as a CPA. I also like the Financial Pac ROM, that I use for date math and NPV calculations. I also prefer working with RPN and its memory stack.
There have been other good HP calculators made after the HP41, many faster, but all are more focused on a specific target market with far fewer features.
