Canon compact S5is
1 of 1 found this helpful I first bought one of these 3 years ago and was very impressed with both the still and video results. Like a lot of bods I then moved on tho an SLR camera, the Canon 400d again a super camera but without video so had to carry two units and extra lenses to cover all functions. This means a lot of extra weight when travelling and put my cabin bag over the limit a couple of times.
My opinion that the S5is is a much better bet for me. The immediate switch to video button is a fantastic function. The cameras zoom function works both in still and video shooting and is the quietest I know of.
One distinct advantage this camera has is that it has anoptical viewfinder in addition to the screen. Very useful in bright sunlight

Smallest cleaner
The smallest cleaer did notfit through the small nozzle jet.
