Homespun
This yarn is beautiful but difficult to see. It may be because of the multi colors. It did make up beautifully and I have a lovely Afghan because of it. Some people said it cannot be washed because it falls apart. Mine did not fall apart and it left no lint in the dryer or washer. If you use a simple pattern like I did, it is possible for a beginner to use. Once you get past the first row and can crochet into the space instead of a stitch. I washed in cold water and low temperature in the dryer.

The Stone Bull by Phyllis Whitney
I admire the writings of Phyllis Whitney. The Stone Bull is especially intriguing because it involves a mystery and a sweet subtle love story. The plot brings in the arts - ballet, drawing and stone sculptor. Always Whiteny teaches as she unfolds a mystery and takes you places you may never go. Her style is probably a thing of the past and is so refreshing after todays thin plots and watered down descriptions.

Dorothy Kilgallen
Mark Shaw has done an excellent job of presenting the facts of this fifty plus mystery murder case of a woman investigative reporter/journalist. The book is a page turner and offers a bit of history concerning hollywood, NYC, and mafia involvement in political matters.
