Nice For Rice
A little smaller than you expect, but good quality. The only question, is what to fill it with? I've gone with cheap rice, but many other options are available.

Small, super and slippery.
9 of 9 found this helpful For some time now I've been upgrading my compact camera and sticking with Canon, first via the A series (A620, A640), then the G series. Not every single time they upgraded though, I'm no slave to marketing; just, ahem, every other time they upgraded... Thus, happy with my G9 I ignored the G10 and awaited the G11. However, Canon prevented this potentially OCD purchase by competing against themselves in the form of the S90.
The S90 has a significant proportion of the G11's features (especially the same sensor, DIGIC 4 processor and RAW shooting facility)and a bright lens. It is actually pocketable and discrete, which I'm afraid the G series aren't. It doesn't have a viewfinder, but that's a feature of compact cameras that I never use.
So, what's it like? Brilliant. Picture quality is top notch, and if you're familiar with Canon compacts you'll feel right at home immediately. The control ring around the lens is a good idea that adds usefulness and character.
It's not without faults though, as follows:
1) It's slippery. Canon could have done better with the finish, which is very liable to slide out of your hand, especially at the front where a small grip would have been a good idea.
2) The "play" button is too easy to press as you extract the camera from a case - which means that pressing the "on" button then just turns the display off. Annoying if that streaker/alien/celebrity/terrorist is about to exit your view and you're in a hurry.
3) The rear control ring is a little too easy to activate inadvertantly, which results in a variety of actions, depending what mode you're in.
4) It's expensive! Oh yes, not one you'd want to lose or damage and a pretty decent DSLR can be picked up for only twice the price.
In summary, if you're in the market for a feature-rich compact and don't want the Panasonic LX3 (its main competitor) then this is the camera for you.
