"Ideal reading and reference for the trainee/hobby pilot or enthusiast of the Piper Warrior"
This is a slim volume of some 116 pages, but manages to contain a good overall
view of the many aspects of the aeroplane: mechanically, electrically, inflight and safety wise.
The first half of the book begins with a very brief history of the 'Warrior' and its variants and
is followed by a full description of the Flight Control Systems with many photos and drawings.
These include all mechanical parts (eg ailerons, rudder, propeller etc) plus engine and its components including the fuel system, ignition, carburation, electrical power supply, the starter motor, avionics, the vacuum system, the undercarriage and braking system, the Pitot Static system (used in altimeter and airspeed indicator) and seats and safety belts is also covered. This half also contains parametric graphs for engine performance and for carburettor icing. This latter part is thoroughly covered with attendant graphs.
The final half begins with: Normal Operating Procedures . This includes: 'on the ground', starting up, taxying, take off, cruising, stalling, spinning and and landing. These contain many anecdotes and useful information about the aeroplane.
The last quarter of the book contains more esoteric performance data in the form of tabulations and graphs. This is good reference information.
The final part of the book ends with a Pre-flight checklist (external and internal to plane), pre-take off checks plus checks carried out during flight and handling of various emergencies section. There are three Appendices covering a Glossary of Terms and Abbreviations. These include the various 'V Codes' and useful conversion factors.
Finally it should be noted that there is no index or Section numbering used in this volume. In place of this Bold text of various sizes is used to usher in the various sections and parts. I personally found navigating around the book not to be an issue but might be for some.
