With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa (Paperback or Softback)
    01 Mar, 2021
Compelling first hand witness to war, a travel back to a time not to be forgotten.
I just finished watching the Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg production of The Pacific, a TV series based on this book and some other sources and I'm part way into reading this book now too. It's compelling and goes into far more detail about the men and women who served during WWII, and particularly the experiences of Eugene Sledge as he details in With The Old Breed. I knew I would enjoy it and I truly am. I've also purchased and read Unbroken, the life story of Louis Zamperini, another great book from the same era that everyone should read. Sometimes these stories are hard to absorb, but it's vital to know the truth and hardships of war and how important faith is to survival and hopefully to future choices of how to avoid this massive conflicts. I highly recommend reading these books. Thanks.
Reading Law: The Interpretation of Legal Texts by Antonin Scalia: New
    01 Mar, 2021
Learning how to think about the law, entertaining, insightful and just plain Scalia smart.
THIS is exactly the kind of book I have been wanting as a desk reference. I work in real estate and am often challenged by legal issues. Knowing how to understand law is vital and while I'm not a lawyer, this book is a great way to learn how to talk to lawyers when the need arises. Also, I'm highly interested in politics and legislation for housing and other fields. I read for hours a day, online and off, so having access to one of the greatest legal minds in our history with this book is exactly what I was hoping to find. I much prefer hardback books and the price drop was the final factor in my decision to purchase. Thanks.
