Best edition--most experts seem to think so
Although expensive, this seems to be the preferred edition/translation of Escoffier's magnum opus.
This edition is well worth the price.
The typeface is large enough, clear, and DARK to make reading and browsing easy, especially these days when many publishers favor grayish-looking print for words.

Buy this book while it is still available.
Although I have not yet completed my reading of this book, Ifind it fascinating. I particularly like historical details and background, especially in the chapter about Dr Vaughan's alleged 'scandal,' which seems probably not to have happened at all. I highly recommend this chapter alone because of its discussion of both close friendships and intimate writing styles current at the time, but easily misinterpreted today by readers as well as researchers. This is an outstanding contribution to studies of British public schools, church life and practice, and nineteenth century literature.
I should have liked more illustrations, but I was able to find what I wanted on the internet. This is among my best finds.

Only a sampling of a larger work. Shame on Dover!
The printing in this booklet (the original is a hefty tome) is superb. HOWEVER, most of the full page "scene" pages have been omitted. An original copy is quite expensive, so if one's purse does not allow that, buy one of the dvds of this book and others of Pugin available on ebay.
