Relaxing read
Miss Read's flowing style with her good use of language makes this a book to read in between Swedish crime books and technical stuff. Takes you into the world about which she's writing for a while.

Looked good but didn't perform
1 of 1 found this helpful The product looked good until I used it, it wasn't easy getting different thicknesses, the Julienne cutter feature just didn't work and the dial was so stiff that I could hardly move it, even with dry hands, so impossible with hands damp from picking up veggies. The seller refunded on receipt so absolutely no complaint about them, I would use them again, just this particular product.
I think you would have to pay a whole lot more money to get something that did all the things this was supposed to do.

interesting, informative, a must for advanced German learners.
I read this book for a language project and we had to write some pages about it afterwards. I found the book extremely interesting and gave a real insight into the working/leisure lives in East Germany with some terms and expressions only found over there. As their lives were all linked to where they worked - living, working, free time and relaxing, it just showed the difference between East and West.
I bought another copy to send to a friend, who is studying German and who I'm sure will enjoy it as much as I did.
