It's an instant adhesive but it has a second fantastic use
1 of 1 found this helpful I've used it to fix my rubber neck seal on my dry-suit. This a hard job to do with an instant adhesive as things never go quite where you want. Instead, you apply the glue lightly and evenly to both surfaces and then leave them to dry completely in 24 hours. Fit the dry surfaces where you wish and then use the tip of a hot iron to melt the glues and seal the bond, bit by bit. Fantastic! And no mess.

Looks exactly like the original but beware
Yes, it looks just like the original and, at first seems every bit as good. But, did you realise the item is actually 2 items screwed together? Here, the plastic seems the same but the screws are different. Original GoPro has 3 stainless steel screws holding the two pieces together. This item has non stainless mini screws which barely drive into the other piece of plastic. Put pressure on the joint (I accidentally treated it roughly) and the short screws burst out of the other piece, breaking it. And, if you get them in salt water, the screws really show how you need them to be stainless.
In the picture, you can see the 3 cheap, short, rusty screws and one of the correct GoPro stainless steel screws which should be there.

Very easy to use
I paddle a sea kayak in the sea. This is great for setting up a navigation route and you can use it easily to handle your adjusted route in tidal flows. Also you can easily adjust for magnetic instead of true north. I would say I'm mathematically minded so it strikes me as simple. And there's even a couple of idiot-proof helpful arrows on it to avoid you setting things up in the opposite direction.
Why not 5 stars?
Well, I'm considering chopping off the tail end of the base plate as it's a bit over-large for carrying in the kayak. I'm reluctant to spoil it but it is extremely large at well over a foot long.
I've included a photo of it on top of an a4 map so you can see how massive it is. Great for the table but oversized in a small kayak.
