Welcome back Pieter Vos
I've been a fan of David Hewson's Costa series of books and was sorry when they finished. I picked up a copy of House of Dolls because I'd run out of something to read and I' loved it. Ijust wished that he'd make a series of these and yes he did. The Wrong Girl is even better partly because you now know the main characters because they are so well drawn. The story makes a slow start but once you get into it it's a real page turner with plenty of twists and turns up to the last page. It leaves you wanting to know more about Pieter Vos and his team. I must leave it at that as his next book Little Sister is by my side waiting for me to start.

A dark read
I have read and liked her first book Blackwood so I was keen to read the second in the trilogy Willow Walk. This is a darker read and the characters more developed. The tension builds steadly and the end is not predictable. It has the feel of a Hardy novel that Marie is doomed and that her past will be her downfall. Why didn't she take the sensible course of action but you know why and it all seems inevitable there's no escape for her. Keen to read the next one Damselfly.

Step back in time
I started reading the Kate Shackleton mysteries by accident. Now I've read all of them and Miss Brody is one of my favourite authors and I look out for her next book.
