Good for children
This is a good book for children. The fingering charts for each new note are very clear and the theory is short and concise. More emphasis is placed on the playing.
The songs are not all easily recognisable but there are enough that you know so that makes it easier to guage whether you have it right. I would say this is better when working with a teacher.
Although it is graded for some exams, I would say that it wouldn't be sufficient if you seriously want to learn music theory. Having said that, it's a very good starting point and doesn't confuse younger children and doesn't spoil the fun of playing by being too theory heavy.

Pocket sized gem
3 of 3 found this helpful This is a wonderful book that encourages mindful practice and explain things very easily. It's small enough to fit into a pocket or handbag so you can always refer to it when you need a little inspiration.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a very simple, no nonsense guide to mindfulness; the logic behind it, the benefits to be had from it, and how to do it.

Intelligently written, simple to follow plan
If you're serious about changing your lifestyle and adopting new lifetime habits, then you can't go wrong with this lovely lifestyle plan. Louise takes you through all the thought processes that went on in developing this regime and it makes a lot of sense.
It's important to read through the introductory pages to understand the thinking and to appreciate that this lifestyle is not going to be painful or full of deprivation. It's all about encouraging you to think more about what you eat, and to incorporate healthy eating the exercise into your daily routine.
The recipes are easy and delicious, and, they do not involve hard to get ingredients or fad foods. It's a gem of a book.
