Dr. Phil has become a trusted source of advice for relationships.
I purchased this book because I think Dr. Phil has some extremely helpful, realistic advice for couples. When I bought it, I was in a rough spot in a relationship and was desperate for answers. Input from friends and family can only get you so far.
Although I'm now happily engaged, I'm keeping this book handy just in case we need a little added wisdom at some point. Long term relationships can get tough, but I know they're worth the hard work we put into them.

History with all the Action and Intrigue
This DVD set was a gift for my husband, and I did not expect to like it. It is so well written with a well chosen cast of characters, I enjoyed it almost more than he did. This movie is actually based on true African history, but has so much to say about human nature in general. It has so many profound things to say on a variety of subjects on a variety of levels.
It was also a little helpful to do just a little research on the internet to understand a little of it, especially to be prepared for the ending. It' doesn't appear to be a happy ending but when you do the research and understand what happened "after" it makes sense and is easier to deal with. This is history and this is what happened. Immensely fascinating, really. It's a wonderful change from the entertainment we've grown accustomed to.

There are not a lot of copies of this book out there. It was written my a priest in a small town who shares amazing, insightful homilies every week at two different churches. Hearing his messages in person is great, but having this book is nice. He is one rare priest.
