Oliver Peoples Gregory Peck Black OV 5186 47 mm New

Knockoff?

I've never owned or seen a real pair of Oliver Peoples Gregory Peck eyeglass frames, so I don't know really how to tell if these are genuine. I compared them to ones shown on an Oliver Peoples website and they look like they might be genuine. But I can't say without holding the two in my hands and examining them closely. Why do I think they are not genuine? First: the price. I paid far less than a real pair would sell in regular retail. Maybe I got a great deal! Second: they were shipped directly from China. Strange. I don't believe they are made in China. The other odd thing is that the eBay listing said the would ship from a location in Eastern Europe. They came from China. But are they good glasses? Yes, they are. Do they look like the real thing? Yes, they do. And they came packaged in a very nice "Oliver Peoples" case and box and everything. All that was of high quality. If it's not really Oliver Peoples, they have fooled me. Do I recommend them? Yes, but I may not know better as I mentioned. Should you buy them? Maybe. But not if you want to be sure you are getting the genuine article. BTW -- I believe there are some knockoffs that are priced like the genuine article. If I bought one of those, I would not want to make a detailed comparison. I'd rather just tell myself "of course they're real! I wouldn't have paid $300 (or more) if they weren't" and leave it at that.

New Fan

I am new to Russian watch collecting and have purchased a few vintage and new watches recently. This Amphibia is by far my favorite. It is large and heavy, but very well made and fits quite comfortably. It keeps great time and does not need winding with the automatic feature. I would like to buy more as gifts for my friends and family. You will be pleased with this watch!
