"The famous Simon Templar" 🎵🎵doo doo doo doo doo doo doo 🎵🎵
DVD box set of The Saint, complete series 1, featuring Roger Moore aka "The famous Simon Templar". At February 2024, Talking Pictures TV are currently running these monochrome episodes on a Monday afternoon at 3pm. On seeing this set on offer, I decided not to wait and had to buy. To my mind this is Roger Moore's made to measure role. Far better than Bond. The stories and supporting cast are great with a role call of well known actors from the period. Despite the frequent downplaying of his abilities, Roger Moore was a very good actor. His portrayal of S.T. is pitch perfect. Stunt doubles we're obviously used for some shots but he realistically and enthusiastically puts everything into the fight scenes when he's on camera. Sixties nostalgia? Yes but it's great to feel nostalgic every now and again and again..... Sixties for the sixties and over. Recommended.

Nostalgia never grows old
The Last Of The Mohicans was a Fifties TV show
I saw it in the Sixties, just to let you know
John Hart, Lon Chaney Jr. as Hawkeye, Chingachgook
Memories in black and white, worth another look
James Fenimor Cooper's classic brought brilliantly to life
Heroes with long rifle, tomahawk and knife
A great TV series up there with the best
Blood brothers fighting for what's right in the early West
History making history never to be lost
Available for you to buy, more than worth the cost
Highly recommended for people who like me
Love all these old TV shows now on DVD

Martin Taylor - what else do you need to know?!
Sampler collection from the guitar genius that is Martin Taylor, culled from six of his Linn Records albums, oddly bypassing tracks from his landmark 'Artistry' album from 1991 (33 1/3 years ago? Gulp!). Please take this CD featuring Martin in solo and group settings as the tip of his musical iceberg and start investigating all his recordings immediately.
Martin is now Grammy nominated musician Dr. Martin Taylor, MBE, virtuoso guitarist, composer, educator and musical innovator who Acoustic Guitar magazine has called "THE Acoustic Guitarist of his Generation". Widely considered to be the world’s foremost exponent of solo jazz and fingerstyle guitar playing and one of only four people bestowed with the title CGP by Chet Atkins. CGP? Certified Guitar Player!
Though categorised as a 'Jazz guitarist', playing many 'standards' from the Great American Songbook in his wider repertoire, to my ears he is a musician who always puts melody first - with a few notes thrown in for good measure.
Fabulous guitarist/musician aside, how does the music sound? Great! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
