Good things come to those who wait... and pay attention.

First of all I love that it is DC and not DCC. Second is that it was a fantastic price!!! It is new old stock so I got to be the first to run it. I have been wanting one like this for over 10 years.

Slightly disappointed

The loco looks absolutely fantastic and runs great. I even waxed nostalgic because the motor is in the tender where a drive shaft connects to the engine drivers, just like the AHM V&T steam engine I owned... forty years ago. Upon closer examination I noticed a discrepancy. There is no piston moving back and forth from the cylinder to the drive rods. Also, the cylinders are too short and not big enough around for the stroke that would be needed if there was a piston. I also didn't realize there would be traction tires. I have bad memories of traction tires. I don't know if it's durable yet as it's still brand new. The price was definitely right and I'm still glad I bought it.

Everything looks great. It's beautiful. The only difficulty is putting the engine and tender together. Small tools are needed. Once it's together, don't take it apart.
