Everyone should know it
1 of 1 found this helpful If your guitar sounds dull, this can be night and day... If you just wanted your good old trusted guitar to have a little "pimp" in the sound, it may be the solution. Really, everyone should try tusq nuts and know what it can do for your sound.
Don't listen to people who says a nut can't change the sound "unless with open strings". The strings are always stood by the nut...
Tusq is often a little brighter than bone. But every guitar is different, the setups are different, and so, it can make a huge difference, or almost none, depending on a lot of variables.
Tusq is generally even more noticeable at acoustic instruments, because it really improves the vibration transmission between the parts. And can make a normal acoustic guitar sounds like expensive one.
