Got me hooked
I HAD to read the rest of the trilogy once I finished this prequel, having been recommended this book over lockdown. I don’t read them as a child, but I guess this prequel is knowingly aimed at the audience that grew up with them... in that it got pretty dark in places! This just added to the “I-couldn’t-put-it-down-ness!”. I’ve started the whole series (this prequel, The Northern Lights Trilogy, and the whopping sequel, too!) from the beginning, and would recommend you do the same (even if you’ve read them before!).
