This is a riveting personal drama
1 of 1 found this helpful This movie was first shown on television and then released on dvd. I have read the autobiography by Fania Fenelon and the movie chose to specifically recount her days in the orchestra at the concentration camp. The supporting cast to Vanessa Redgrave is very good. The movie sets were excellent depictions of camp barracks. The movie shows the difficult choices that must be made when a person is trapped in the de-humanizing situation of a death camp. Jane Alexander is the orchestra leader, Alma Rose. A sobering movie to watch but viewing is essential to continue to honor and remember those who died. Parental discretion is advised for scenes of prisoner executions and mistreatment which are very realistic.

Civil war documentary
This documentary follows a day by day summary of the events and persons involved in President Lincoln's death. Cast is excellent and staging of scenes was well done. Tom Hanks, as usual, is matter of fact in his narration with no excessive dramatization to detract from the scenes. As a relative of Lincoln's mother. Nancy Hanks, he adds tremendous credibility to his role. Would highly recommend this dvd to anyone interested in civil war or the Lincoln years and his relationship with his Cabinent members. This was broadcast first on TV and I am glad to add to my personal dvd collection. Would be excellent for history students in high school.

Engaging historical drama
Excellent drama of the wars of roses English history. Portrays historical details with accuracy. Cast is excellent. This is an adult movie with realistic battle scenes and nudity. Parents should use proper guidance with teens.
