Cheap; a bit wobbly but it works
If you are looking for a cheap 2.4Ghz stick transmitter/receiver combo, your options are limited to the ugly basic futaba or having to spend £250 on the next model up. In the absence of the Core RC option these days, this is the only alternative.
It is cheap, very cheap. The sticks are plastic and have a little bit of wobble on both axes so do not deliver a perfectly solid motion as a better made (more expensive) one would. However, this is just a niggle and does not affect control in any way. The transmitter feels quite hollow and is, therefore, very light.
Overall, it is what it is. It does the job. Won't take many drops I expect and the instruction manual is not very helpful in explaining all the options the transmitter offers to a newcomer to this tech.
As opposed to some other dual chargers, this one has a unique feature with its power supply. Located on the right of the unit, a small box is attached that offers 2 extra USB ports and 3 banana plugs. This unit can be used alongside charging 2 batteries and also using the USB port on the front. No need to stop charging and power distribution of 250 volts between the 2 charging points and power supply can be adjusted. This meant that I could use my soldering iron and run 2 fans whilst charging my phone and 2 NiMhs!
Metal construction ensures that it not only feels solid but this also helps in keeping the unit cool with the one fan not too noisy at all.
A fantastic charger and, if you want to be picky about looking for a problem with it then its max discharge rate is only 2 amps which isn't a problem if you do slow discharges.
