A virtual dinosaur
5 of 9 found this helpful I have had this same model for almost 15 years and while it was a great machine at the time, it is now seriously out-of-date. For example, it uses a floppy disk & there are no USB ports. When is the last time you used a floppy disk? And while the antiquated technology may work, it is slow to transfer designs and has very limited storage capability. If it's true that Brother no longer makes parts for this model, the asking price seems high for something that is on borrowed time. I realize the price is attractive compared to the $9000.00 machines you see today but it seems hard to justify spending almost $1000 (including shipping) to buy something so out-of-date. It is for this reason that gave it a "no" on being a good value.
