1908-S 1¢ Gem BU Red actually becomes AU Details Whizzed when graded.
1 of 1 found this helpful This was billed as "Gem BU Red" and the scans looked great. When I submitted it to NGC for grading, it came back "AU Details, WHIZZED". Rather disappointing and thus overpriced.

Beautiful GEM but came back from NGC as Unc Details, Improperly Cleaned
This 1932-D 25¢ coin was billed as CH/Gem BU and it does look beautiful. When I had it graded by NGC it came back Unc Details, Improperly Cleaned. Obviously, this will lower the value when I someday try to sell it. I wish that cleaned coins would be required to be advertised as such, especially very expensive key coins.
