Well priced, but poor quality
It might seem odd that I've criticised the thermometer and yet said I'd recommend it. That's only for those who might be prepared to do a bit of diy if necessary.
The unit doesn't feel robust, but then it is very reasonably priced. When I used it for the first time, it displayed the temp accurately as far as I know, but then as it was cooling down, the red needle stuck at about 150 degrees C. I could see that the bimetallic strip had in fact fallen off its attachment, so I took the unit to bits (not that easy as it's pressed, not screwed, together). A tiny bit of glue now holds the strip in place at its fulcrum, and it seems to work OK. I don't think my wee bit of glue has affected the readings. So it's good enough if it doesn't come to bits, and good enough if you're prepared to mend it if and when it does.

New Honeywell V4043 Motorised Zone valve
Arrived quickly, price was very reasonable, and unlike many so-called genuine articles, this one actually is!
Won't know whether it lasts, until it gives up working, but I guess a genuine Honeywell valve should last as well as any.

Why buy used?
I actually needed two wing mirrors for my Peugeot 206, and spent hours trolling through all the second-hand offerings, trying to find one that wasn't too expensive, but would definitely be the right model for the car. At some point I came across the curiously titled 'Ultimate Styling' mirrors, and decided to try just one, as the price was less than most of the second-hand ones, and it seemed to be too good to be true. Fact is, it was all it should have been; as good as the original Peugeot mirrors, all the electrics (positioning and heating) working perfectly, and at a price (£23) that would make the official Peugeot offering look like the crown jewels.
Don't bother with second hand mirrors. If Ultimate Styling do your mirror (and I've no idea how many types they sell), go that way.
