Cant trust the mah numbers or time charging batteries

Can't trust the numbers mah charge or discharge at all, is way over or under the mah rating for the battery. Sometimes the battery is still dead after charging shows complete. Can take a few mins to several days to charge batteries. I tried a few battery brands all had issues.
