Smaller than original
It’s about 3/4 of an inch shorter than the original Vita Mix tamper

No retail box doesn’t make a difference
Al long as it’s manufactured by Epson, you’ll be good. You might have had good luck with cheap generic or refills, but I’ve had bad luck with them. Cheap cartridges may end up being more expensive.
