Don't doubt your bread maker - add extra gluten
2 of 2 found this helpful I thought my old breadmaker was malfunctioning so I bought a new one. It didn't make any difference - the loaves still wouldn't rise as they used to - especialy with wholemeal flour. Variations to the receipe didn't help either. My wife kept suggesting adding extra gluten. I should have listened sooner. I tried increasing levels until it was right. For a recipe containing 400g of flour I needed 30g of gluten. My advice: don't doubt your breadmaker (or your wife) and add extra gluten to make up for sub-standard flour. Many thanks for an excellent product. Regards, Chris
