One drawer was cracked and veneer was lifting on one corner, this wasn't mentioned in the listing however. A bit of glue should sort those small issues out. Apart from that cassette storage drawers were in good nick, better than most of the things on fleabay.

Disappointed - heavy clunky not easy to manoeuvre

Had hoped the Vax would become easier to use as I got used to it but I regret to say that I am so disappointed with it and would not buy another. The weight, poor manoevrability and general clunkiness means I dread having to use the machine.

Heavier than expected and nowhere near as nippy and manoeuvrable as our old Vax Air, the steerability feature is poor.
Suction is very good and has a slider to vary the strength which is good as on high suction the Vax is almost impossible to move on our carpets!
The brush bar is now full width uninterrupted by bracing which is a marked improvement.
The longer power lead length is a real bonus (partly explains increased weight)
The increased capacity of the dust collector is better but it still fills up fast especially when used on newer carpets
The ability to clean the dust collector is much improved as you can now take out the innards from the clear sleeve to properly clean it out when dust has gone above the max line.
The flexible hose is way too short for any useful application unless the rigid handle is added so this means you need to use the 'lift out' module for hoover dusting and stairs etc.
The 'lift out' module is quite heavy and has to be held all the time as it is totally unstable on its rather pathetic base stand. This means you have no hands free to move things out of the way which is inconvenient. The 'lift out' unit can only be used with the short flexible hose without attachments otherwise you need to fit the long rigid handle to use the attachments but this means it is very poor for use on stairs as the rigid handle is too long to go side to side across the stair treads so you have to use a short front to back scrubbing action which doesn't get into the back of the tread nor clean the front lip properly.
The pet turbo brush can only be fitted to the end of the rigid handle but is only a plug fit with no lock so it falls off whenever you bump it. The pet turbo brush also is at an angle to the turbo head which is probably fine for use on the floor but doesn't work on stair treads where you are typically standing a couple of steps down.
Noise levels are okay but seem higher than the old Vax Air which is a shame.
The power cable at last comes with a clip on the top of the handle to try and keep it out of the way but it still rather easily unclips and gets under foot.
Overall some things are improved from our old Vax Air but we are left disappointed especially on the weight, manoeuvrability and stair/hoover dusting aspects.
