Great little headset cap. The Origin 8 logo is a nice looking design, on a well made plain aluminum cap.

Just a terrific compact bar, love the shape
I felt that I needed a wider bar, and my chest/shoulder width sugsested it as well. I am really just thrilled with this bar in every way. The shape is very square- up top, it is flat pretty far out, and the initial bend to the hoods is quick and angular. Leaves a lot of room for your hands while riding upright, even with a lot of accessories and cross levers that I have. Riding in the drops feels very comfortable. Feels better to me than traditional shapes and ergo. Being compact is great feature, as I like being higher than some while in the drops. These bars are also unexpectedly light and stiff despite being thinner gauge than my previous set. Lastly, the finish is a lovely matte. I cant think of literally any way they could be better.

Great budget bar end shifter
I initially planned on buying the Shimano Dura ace 9 speed bar end shifter set for my commuter/touring build. I was running non indexed Suntour barcons on my 9 speed setup, and the front proved fine, but I really craved indexing for the rear. Since Shimano bar ends only come in sets and I didn't want to shell out the $100 for them, I thought I would try these. I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised. The fit, finish, and feel is quite good. I actually prefer the color scheme to the Shimano units. The index is spot on. It was ridiculously easy to set this shifter up and get spot on shifting. The build quality seems robust enough, and I don't foresee it failing anytime soon. I have no experience with the Shimano dura ace bar ends yet, but compared to some older Deore 7 speed sis/friction switchable thumb shifters I have, the index click on these SR units is a bit louder and more pronounced. They have a notchy feel to their click that I actually like. I liked the right hand shifter so much that I bought a left hand one to make a matched set.
All in all, I can't say much about direct comparison to the Shimano Dura Ace bar ends, but these SR units feel great, work great, look great, and seem sturdy. They will do you well. They are not friction/index convertible, but if you're buying a shifter that has index, but having shifted both ways, I don't see much need for that feature now. Index is just easier.
