Great intro to opera
1 of 1 found this helpful The book breaks down opera's history and components, leading into the study of specific pieces starting with Rigoletto. I'm only on page 100, but I look forward to seeing a performance soon.

Well done
Whether as a reference book, or for enjoyment, Hamilton's work is well written (1942- good vocabulary), and engaging and should be a great help in my understanding of myth with regards to museum artwork on the subject.
