An Absolute Neccesity
Although I was initially disappointed to find that this volume is so thin, I was soon quite impressed with it's content. It doesn't list as many varieties as the more well known guides, but the information is better organized, and more comprehensive. It describes the mushrooms on the same page as the photo, including edibility, and gives a spore color for each - the only definitive test for absolutely identifying a mushroom. If you are going mushroom hunting, you need this book!

Gimme some weeds!
Rarely is a sitcom funny anymore - well, on network T.V., anyway. Weeds is a refreshing exception to that rule. I don't have Showtime - who can afford to have all of the movie channels, anyway? But I'm so glad this series has become available to all thru the medium of DVD. It is funny, thought provoking, engaging, and has a very cool theme song, which I am learning to play on my Ukulele! Buy this set - but you may want to watch it after the kids go to bed.

Pre Fame Kansas - Best progressive rock album ever!
When I was about 14, a freind gave me a copy of this on vinyl. No one had ever heard of this group, but the cover was very cool so it caught his attention at a flea market. I had never heard anything like it! It was the oddest music - hard rock with a violin! I played it over and over until it wore out, then bought 2 or 3 more and wore them out too. That was a long time ago, and when I came across on it CD I wondered if it would still sound as good to me. It Soooo Does!
It's better than anything that this group did later - their hits weren't aywhere as complex or interesting. I would call this my all time favorite album ever, and I'm so old I still call them albums!
