Mostly quiet
Runs quiet when not at full speed. At full speed is audible.

Overall great but slightly dodgy feeling controls
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a really great hairdryer. But, I’m glad I bought a refurbished one, as even then, the price is pretty steep.
On the plus side, does come with a great range of attachments.
Overall build quality and materials are pretty good. One thing I would say is that for such a premium product the controls (on/off, heat intensity, fan speed and cool shot buttons) feel a bit cheap and flimsy. They are made from a shiny faux-metal finish plastic, same goes for the filter grill over the fan intake at the base of the handle. This feels especially fragile and breakable when removing it to clean it.
Think considering the price Dyson could have afforded to make these elements from a sturdier more durable material, e.g. actual metal.
