Refreshing and captivating change to current offerings
Surprised that the book offers a great deal. Good for new gamers but also a refreshing source of a simple yet good and playable rule set that will give a stress free game.
These are in the current ‘one hour and as few figures on the table’ mould. They take longer to play than one hour and the game requires as many as 96 figures so if you aren’t prepared to put in that minuscule amount of preparation then go back to GW products. The 96 figures is a paltry quantity in my opinion but I can live with that ( I play with hundreds a side usually)
Buy this book.

Excellent painting reference
A brilliant new book that I first encountered just three weeks ago in a Normandy museum bookstore.
A must.

Band of Brotherrs DVD 2002
This has got to be the best ever filmed acount of the Second World War.
There is a fantastic level of realism and it is very accurately assembled.
It portrays war as it is and the various reactions to those involved in a war. I genuinely feel that Tom Hanks uses this to pick up on some of the points not covered or possibily less well conveyed in saving Private Ryan.The hand held camera works even better this time around and you do get a sense of the real issues facing the characters.
Yes there is violence but it is non gratuitous and demonstrates what happens when good has to deend aganst evil.Watch and learn people - watch and learn.
