AIRFIX WESTLAND WHIRLWIND & HAWKER TYPHOON IB STARTER SET 1:72 MODEL KIT PAINT
26 Jun, 2019
Great entry level way to start or resume kit building
Now I've not made a model kit in close on 40 years and these are an easy way back into the hobby without having to spend a fortune on paints, brushes and glue. The only thing you really need not in the kit is a modelling knife to cut the parts from the plastic sprue - but if you have a sharp penknife away you go. Paints are acrylic so brushes wash out in warm water (bot don't let the brush dry before you the paint out) and the paint covers reasonably well (not as thick as enamel but the small detail such as panel lines doesn't get hidden so easily. These starter sets would make a nice gift for someone looking to try modelling, or as a cheap way back into the hobby after a break.
