Intel Q9650 CPU
7 of 7 found this helpful Even though these processors are E.O.L. (End Of Life), they are becoming a good bargain for those higher end LGA 775 motherboards that can run Windows 10, (for those that wish to). I haven't seen a big difference between the Q and the QX version which costs at least 2 to 3 times more on the used market. I've purchased a number of these used for customers upgrades and haven't had a bad one yet. If you can find them for less than $50, I would say to go for it if you have a motherboard that you would like to keep around for 2 to 4 more years and your current processor is less than a quad core and/or slower than 2.5 Gigahertz. Make sure to run the recommended heatsink and fan however. They will run a little hot. The skinny Intel unit on the low power CPU installations won't keep it cool under load. The thicker copper core heat sinks can be found for cheap yet and will work well.
