So so
It looks and feels strong and durable but feel it wastes too much of the centre when spirilizing carrots etc. I've yet to try it on apples/pears as they are not ready for picking for another three months at least. Then it will be put to the test well and truly as my spare freezer will be switched on in August to store the prepared fruit from our garden for the winter months. Besides this I will be using it to prepare the apples and pears for chutneys and the brewing buckets. I sincerely hope it performs in this better than it does with carrots as for the last few years my husband has had to hand crank an old fashioned peeler/coring unit as I lack the strength to do more than one at a time by the manual means!

So so
If it hadn't been for the excellent cookbook it would have only rated ***. I've had three other Kitchenaid cookbooks out of four which have gone straight to the local charity shop as their contents were more cordon bleu than suitable for everyday cooking. This book along with an older American issue I got many years ago are the only ones I've kept as regularly in use!
The attachment itself is ok but I think it could be made stronger as keeps jamming up especially with root vegetables (raw). I'd been hoping it would work more effectively so I didn't have to assemble the dicing unit for the largest Kitchenaid food processor as it is too difficult for my arthritic hands to manage and I have to rely on my husband to assemble and dissassemble it for me. Also has jammed up slicing carrots.
In its favour it is easier to assemble than the dicing unit for the Kitchenaid processor although I've struggled at times to insert the whole unit into the mixer, more so than inserting the grater unit or pasta rollers.
