The First of the Few
1 of 1 found this helpful Despite having been released over sixty years ago and deviating - at least in detail - from the true story, The First of the Few is an immortalized tribute to the designer of the Spitfire, R. J. Mitchell, and to the valiant RAF pilots who fought in defence of these islands against the Luftwaffe.
The music of Sir William Walton, the measured tone of the introducing narrative and the endearing charm of David Niven playing the fictional character of Geoffrey Crisp are particularly memorable.
Wartime propaganda, but we must never forget the miracle of the Battle of Britain. This film will ensure that we do not.

Recommended, but read other books on this subject too.
The argument is that Austria-Hungary, not Germany, was responsible for the First World War. Although I am not in absolute agreement with this conclusion, the author nevertheless presents interesting and detailed information about events leading to the July Crisis. Recommended, but should also be read in conjunction with other, counter-revisionist titles.
