Does what it says on the tin.
Was a replacement for a suspected broken one. Quickly installed, with pairing explained in the onlne manual for all the equivalent "BOSS bps24rf" branded manual was more specific on pairing. Once I found this manual on the internet, pairing was a treat and the unit works fine actually the Siemens branded handset with the Boss branded counterpart at the combiboiler.

Important to know this one is only compatible with MIP3, not MIP. So it did not work with my older system, but I had no problem to return it.

Very effective way in particular for novice welders (like me)
I just learn welding at home. The mask supplied with the welder has to be held with one hand, and if I shield myself I cannot see where the electrode is. So it is an iterative process of putting the electrode to the workpiece, creating a spark and then quickly hold the filter in front, hoping the spark is still there ...
This welding helmet deals with this very problem! A photo diode is used in combination with an LCD screen to adjust the attenuation to the current spark brightness. So I can see the work piece while I place the electrode, and as soon the spark goes the filter changes it's neutral density according to the irradiation received by the photo cell. Absolute genius! On top of it, both hands are free with wearing this helmet (obviously) on the head. The helmet comes with half a dozen protective plates to exchange the one installed in case sparks ruined the sight. So this product should last a while. I was pleased to see it really works when I tried it out yesterday.
According to the manual, the design is also "fashionable". I never thought there was something like fashion in welding gear, and I would not wear it to go out into town (unless I posed as Darth Vader or a bank robber), but it is definitely functional for the workshop.
