LED trailer lamps
a very good product in itself, they are (of course) sealed units with external "flying leads" for wiring into an existing or new set up and would be excellent for use on trailers that are towed by cars with conventional bulbs, but the majority of cars made from about 10 or 12 years ago now have LED lamps on the car as standard, this is operated by the on board "Canbus" system and although a trailer with conventional lights will work OK in that situation, trailers with LED lights may not work at all unless built in "resistance" is added to mimic conventional bulbs, none of this is stated in the sales information. I spent considerable time completing renewing the wiring on my trailer only to find that the new LED trailer lights will not work on my Mercedes E320. consequently I had to rely on a conventional bulb type trailer board (temporarily strapped on) for the duration of my planned continental holiday. A resolve for this situation is needed.
