The Sunlit Summit: The Life of W. H. Murray by Robert Macfarlane Book The Cheap

A great read....
I really enjoyed this book though struggled somewhat with all the mystical bit towards the end but that's just my feeling. The book is an excellent companion to Evidence and well worth buying to fill in the gaps of the latter and particularly enlightening as to how Evidence came into being after the author's passing
Lure of the Mountains - the life of Bentley Beetham

A charming biography
This small book provided further evidence, if any were needed, of just how tough and determined the early Everest climbers were. It paints a picture of a man who wished to impart his love and knowledge of the great outdoors onto those pupils in his charge in a modest and unassuming manner. A great read and worthy addition to any Everest bibliophile collection

A good read
Usually I like climbing / mountaineering books so this was slightly of my usual reading preferences however it was interesting to read of how important the Alps where in keeping Hitler at bay and how the Swiss struggled to remain neutral when both sides strived to win flavours.
