Dated but still well written fantasy with strong characters.
Fourth in a series of fantasy novels. The plot lines are well worn but Hambly's skill is in writing belieable characters that capture the interest and propel the story at good pace

Easy, fun and satisfying.
1 of 1 found this helpful Like doing painting by numbers or a cross-stitch, if you follow the instructions precisely you will get the picture in the illustration. And the animals are very attractive. Each makes a satisfying project, but be careful that you have a planned destination or recipient, otherwise you will end up with a house full of cuddly toys.

Dramatisation of a five book series.
A costume drama with some first world war action and a very subdued love story. Cumberbatch is as good in this as he has been in any of his other roles.
The story explores the changes in society and how they effect a man raised as landed gentry and his determination to continue living up to the moral standards of his generation.
