It functions but with caveats for something maybe over 12+ years old. Unsure if that's the same fate for all existing VCRs.
0 of 1 found this helpful The fact that I have a VCR is gratifying for me as the one I had won't play videos anymore as I had not turned it on in almost 11 years. The picture quality improved as the VCR perhaps warmed up after 30-40 minutes or so. I do not know if that's what I would expect with another VCR or maybe the toy (frisbee type) that was inside the tape loading compartment may have impacted the heads.
I was able to see my movie though but I was afraid to touch Rewind or Fast Forward for fear of losing a clear picture.
