NEW VOLQUARTSEN Silver Extended Magazine Release Ruger MK I II III Mark 1 2 3
21 Apr, 2020
Works with some minor fitting on Mk I (Standard) also
The description says it works with a Mk I, II, or III. I bought this for a Mark I (188xxx serial number) - out of the package, it didn't quite fit. Specifically, the rounded edges on the back of the release bound up against the rear of the frame, preventing the pin from seating fully (and even if it did seat fully, it would have been too tight to function properly).
I spent about 20 seconds with a grinder with a fine 180 grit grinding wheel to put a chamfer on the rounded edges that were binding against the rear frame, and then a few minutes with the polishing wheel to take the grinding marks out. The result? A perfectly functioning release for a Mark I. Looks great, works great! no more sore thumb.
SR4AZZ bearing is actually 1/4"x3/4"x9/32" - thicker than in the item description
The bearing is fine - a standard double-shielded SR4AZZ. However, the description says that it is 7/32" in thickness, but in reality it's 9/32" - unusable for my application. Good value if you're looking for a standard 9/32" thick, 1/4" id, 3/4" od bearing.
Useless for low-current devices such as radios or fans. OK - not great - for higher current devices (impact drivers, drills).
This battery seems to work with higher-current draw devices (impact driver, drill, etc) - although I have to "wake up" the battery using the charge indicator before it will work on many occasions. I haven't had mine for long, so I can't speak to longevity - mine charges right up and seems to have good life so far.
My main problem with the battery is when using it with lower current drawing devices, such as the Ridgid radio - which is what I bought it for. The battery will provide power for a short time (less than 30 seconds), and then it will turn itself off. I can wake it up again using the button on the charge indicator built into the battery, but then it will shut itself down again within 30 seconds. It doesn't work at all for what I bought it for.
So, if you are going to use it with a higher current draw device - just keep in mind that you may have to periodically "wake up" the battery to keep it working. But if you're looking for a low current draw device - radio, fan, etc - look for a different battery.
