If you are tired of being an automaton, read Jim Rickards and get educated.
I've followed Jim for some time now. He initially took a lot of heat for having done consulting work for the C.I.A. Many called him a SPOOK. The reality seems far different.
It's Jims incredible economic intellect that makes him a sought after consultant. He uses a variety of equations not the norm in the realm of PHD economists of the day. The problem for them? He gets it right.
Further, unlike PHD economists that use stealthy slang to hide reality in plain site; Jim is easy to understand. His speech is eloquent, direct, and supported by facts. It's the kind of in your face reality that PHD (Keynesian) Economists hate. He's also very much a realist and is well grounded.
With Economics such a vitally important educational necessity one might wonder why it isn't taught in public school? But for those experienced in Alice's Wonderland we instead might pose the question differently. Is public school so vitally important to remove just such a necessity? For the Magic of Illusion only works if one does not understand the formation of it's creation.

Don't bother
I can sum up the books rambling message in one sentence. In the future ground forces will still be necessary. I have made it about 3/4 of the way through the book, and all of it I found painful. It's a patch work of other reference material and a formulated summation. It's dry and bland and reads like a doctorates dissertation.

A must read!
Excellent book, read it in two days. Had it in my hand every free minute. The chapter on the A shou was so well told I could see the rounds coming in and I heard the turbine whine and the chopper slump over. This guy did such an outstanding job telling his story.
