Why buy a Hub instead of an Ethernet Switch?
2 of 2 found this helpful Why buy a hub when ethernet switches are ceap and seem to have all the advantages? Well, suppose you want to use a packet "sniffer" to look at traffic on a network, the hub is invaluable. You can't use a switch for this, only a hub will do. Trouble is, manufacturers have stopped making them and build switches instead. So, need to snap up the hubs while you can if you are a network troble-shooter! The netgear DS series are reliable, small enough to be carried around and available as 4-port(DS104) which is all that's needed.

Worked Well For A While....
At first, this worked really well. I used it four times. Then, the circlip holding the wire brush on kept coming off, together with the brush. I was able to re-fit the brush and circlip, but it comes off again after weeding a few feet. I liked it while it worked, such a pity. It needs a better way to retin the brush on the spindle.
