Desert boots nowadays aren't up to the job
I've worn Ghillie Tie desert boots for 37 years. However... recently I've bought 3 pairs from here. The boots are great - apart from the soles. These have the consistency of a dunked Custard Cream.
The 1st pair lasted less than 3 weeks, in total about 12 days of wearing and walking between 6 and 8 miles each time on pavements, so not exactly rough use. The next 2 pairs arrived and I took them to a cobbler who put new, denser rubber soles on. These used to be de rigeur for members of Airborne Forces for off duty wear. These are nowhere near as good as the old boots

Strongest hold going...
1 of 1 found this helpful I've had a moustache for more than twenty years. For years I used Pinaud Clubman, then on to Bounder, and tried all sorts of Jonny Come Lately waxes with various levels of hold and success.
However, when push comes to shove, this is my "go to" wax for actual longevity of hold. Put it in the morning and it's doing it's thing 12 hours later. Splendid!
