Johnson Matthey silver brazing rods Ag130
I am a hobbyist and by no means a 'proffessional welder' or anything. I have done soldering in the past, but needed to repair a 'roarer burner' on a vintage primus stove which would obviously be subjected to high temperatures in use. Using these rods and the supplied flux, together with my gas powered blow torch (MAPP?) the job was done in moments. The rods were everso easy to use, not really any different to soldering, but obviously using a higher temperature. I had also looked into brazing rods from some of the 'big chain stores' in the high street, but these were far better value. They also arrived by post, saving me the cost of fuel and car park ticket. The burner on the primus stove runs great now and obviously gets very hot, but not hot enough to melt the silver brazing.
Well chuffed with these rods in terms of value for money, ease of use and speed of delivery. Highly recommend them.

VGA (analogue) to HDMI (digital) converter
1 of 1 found this helpful The 24" tv in my study doubles up as my desktop computer monitor. In order to add my works laptop (in order to benefit from the bigger screen) I needed something to convert the laptop VGA output to the tv's HDMI input. This device does just that. You may wish to note that it only works one way e.g. it will not convert HDMI to VGA. It needs a spare USB port for power and I bought an HDMI lead suitable for my particular application. I have no need for the audio lead, but presume that works fine if plugged into the correct socket. Very pleased with this product. I use a wireless mouse and keyboard as well, so using my laptop at home is just like using a big desktop.

Cheap and cheerful
1 of 1 found this helpful Very thin aluminium and on the small side. However, this is pretty well what I was looking for. I'm not gonna be OCD over these which means I'll actually use them without worrying whether they get a bit blackened or battered. They arrived 'squished' but were easily re-shaped and dents were literally 'rubbed' out by pressing and rubbing a firm finger over them. I was planning to keep a Primus 96 inside, but don't think they're large enough besides, the thin ali would get mangled or punctured by it. This set would probably be adequate for youngsters doing their D of E awards.
