Olympus PEN E-P1 13.1 MP Digital Camera with 14- 42mm
This is a brilliant buy at £260 new on ebay...well its supposed to be manufacturer refurbished...just seems like a ploy to me to sell off excess stock at great prices. OK this is not the latest all singing and dancing Pen model, but it only came out a short while ago for about £800. Irrespective its a great camera. I bought it because I got fed up lugging my big DSLR and lenses around. In fact I didnt lug them around, more often than not I took a compact because I couldn't face it, then got dissapointed when out and about with the compact not to be able to take the shots I wanted. Solution? Sell all my DSLR gear...Camera, bag, lenses x 3, filters, batteries, flashgun, and sell my Lumix compact. In all raise about £1500, and buy this for £260. It takes much better shots than the DSLR and the compact. It looks great. Its reasonably light and convenient. All I have bought to go with it is an FL20 flash (as new £50 on ebay), decided against the matching FL14...overpriced and not as good as the FL20. At £260 the EP1 with 14.42 is a steal and a great camera, and it is easy to live with its reported shortcoming (lack of viewfinder)...the screen works just fine for me.
