The Spotlight Kid/Clear Spot - Captain Beefheart
2 of 2 found this helpful Two Album CD. Clear Spot is in my opinion the most easily enjoyable and timeless beefheart album he ever made. Brilliantly 'Beefheart' delivery of haunting, hallucinagenic and tender songs all written by the man himself. Crisp recording, clear well imaged band layout - at last he was taken seriously and they did everything right. Spotlight kid was recorded that same year and it shows. Not as well produced - but not dreadful, I love 'Click Clack'. Buy it, and get some more Beefheart it'l do you good. And it's a heck of a lot better than most of the weak wannabe music of today. Excellent single CD player.
One machine, one job. The designers attention was entirely focused on the best sound for the buck and it shows. Crisp, delineated, deep sound stage. Make sure the rest of your system is as good to really appreciate what this Marantz is giving you.
