Last of the Living (DVD) from a Mk3 Cortina Enthusiast
As a Horror fan and (Ford Cortina Mk3 Owner of over 35 years) I have two points of view to review this film on, If you love zombie films, this is not the best or indeed worst one I have seen, and I would say it's avarage from that respect, with the best bit being the petrol station scene where the Female Scientist kills the zombie son of the owner with a golf club to the head!. If you like to spot mistakes in movies, watch for the scene where the 3 guys near the start go out to find food, and run across a square,(in the deserted town?) they are the only normal people left, but if you look top right of the shot in the background you see a man dressed in dark clothing walking left to right across the background, presumably on his way to work in this early morning shot!!- oops!).
As a MK3 FORD CORTINA ENTHUSIAST, you should like the CAR, it has been dressed up by the film company, and also has the GXL/2000E side strips on the bodywork, but is a Basic Cortina, series two model, with Red bodywork, and light Tan vinly seats, best shots are near the end of the film where they drive to the airport, and camera lingers on the front end from above, also interior shots and side/ rear end shots make it worth a look. If you collect all thing Mk3 Cortina it's worth getting, with a picture of the car on the front and rear box cover and also on the disc, the film has humor, is not as gory as some 1980's zombie films, and should be a rated 15 not 18 in my view, but then Iv'e never agreed with the British Board Of Film Censors, (yes they still "censor" films as they refuse to isusue a certificate unless cuts are made where they say) so it's a joke saying it's "Classification". (so much for freedom of choice!): I found a sealed new original on ebay for sale at just £3.48p (including P+P) so it's worth a look, it's harmless zombie fun and the cars owner LOVES his modyfied Mk3 insisting his friend "Take Care of his old car!". it may not be as good as my Mk3, or many others out there, but we know how he feels!!!!. Enjoy. (my rating is 7 out of 10) Avagage to Good.

A Ford Cortina Enthusiasts Ideal Book.
This is another informative and enjoyable book by Giles Chapman, (the same Author who produced the book,"TV CARS")that had 5 pictures of the Mk3 Cortina in it,(all being 3 of them the same photo, of the "Life on Mars" car. This one is another matter, FULL of lovely colour and some B/W photos of each and every marque in the Cortina Range, from 1962 to 1982. Whith 44 photos of the Mk3 (my personal favorite)and around the same amount of each marque,(except for the Mk5- "Cortina 80") many of which most owners will not have seen before, it is well worth buying in my view.
The book includes a varied amount of information, and some production figuers, is published by Haynes, and I enjoyed it a lot, while it is not fully comprehensive, IE specific model by model info is not included, nor are the details on all the Limited Edition Cortina models Ford made, but then it's not meant to be a copy of a Ford Dealer all model brochure, it is what it is an interesting, fun, photo packed look at the five generations of Cortina that won the hearts of millions of motorists for well over the 20 years it was in Production for, and I hope will encourage future owners, and entertain those of us who own and have loved these cars for years. It is Recommended by the FORD CORTINA Mk3 OWNERS REGISTER,"The longest running Club for the Mk3 Cortina" and this reviwer would love to find it in a christmas or birthday present!, had I not bought a copy myself.

Micra Throttle body (Product) and ease of job, Simple DIY but you need a insert tool for round head bolts
I bought one of these from this seller, and it was "PERFECT" brand new and very pleased with it and the ebay seller Mototronic, easy to fit your self, if you have the right insert tool for the 4 round head bolts, (got mine in a set from Halford) job takes about 20 minutes, remove air cleaner box, should be held on by jubilee clip, screw head on drivers side of housing close up under it,and bolt on right side of air filter housing, and breather pipe off housing, (box should just pull off, remove 3 rubber hoses,(two held on with metal clips so squeeze them and slacken,(on each side, just pull of the thin one at the back, unclip 3 electrical connectors for MAF and TPS, and the other one, undo throttle cable, (and Kick down Cable if automatic gearbox type, remove old gasket fit in reverse order, remember to re fit the rubber collar I find it best to fit it ON the air box, not the throttle body to aid in re fit.
