The New Naturalist titles are always simple and straightforward.
This is an outstanding contribution to an outstanding series, written by someone who has been devoted to his subject for 50 years and so has a profound knowledge of it. He writes in a very easy-to-read style with occasional quirky comments, so that it isn't at all heavy or off-putting for the layman. Read it and you will learn a lot about beetles that you had never suspected. Very highly recommended.
